Energy Sec. Raphael P.M. Lotilla attended the plenary deliberation together with the officials of the DOE attached corporations including NEA Administrator Emmanuel P. Juaneza. Camarines Sur 4th District Rep. Arnie B. Fuentebella acted as the sponsor of the budget.
“The proposed budget of the DOE of P2.22 billion is but a mere fraction of the proposed national budget for FY 2023 of P5.268 trillion, in percentage its only 0.0422 percent though small such precious government funds will fuel key deliverables to ensure that energy supply is adequate and that the access to it will be inclusive. This will also serve as an enabler in supporting the Marcos Administration’s 8-point socio-economic agenda for the country,” Rep. Fuentebella said in his speech.
During the budget deliberation, the congressman also apprised the lawmakers on NEA’s budget for Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) and Electric Cooperatives Emergency and Resiliency Fund (ECERF).
The HOR is set to pass the General Appropriations Bill on third reading today, 28 September 2022.
