NEA’S 7-POINT AGENDA PRESENTED AT PHILFECO OATH-TAKING CEREMONY.

(Ilagan, Isabela) In his second visit at ISELCO II,NEA Administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong graced the occasion that gathered 11 electric cooperatives nationwide namely, NOCECO with Vice Chairman John Peter Milan, NORECO Dir. Gonzalo Natividad, PALECO with GM RIC Zambalez, PANELCO 1 GM Dionisio Apolento Jr, PANELCO III with GM Allan Casem ,SAJELCO GM Cesar Ubungin, SORECO II with GM Atty. Percival G. Alvarez, NUVELCO with Chairman Lopito Lloyd Valdez, QUIRELCO with Chairman Pedro V. Ramel , and ISELCO II for the Oath of Office of Officers of PHILFECO and the 7 point agenda of NEA. Present during his presentation are the Isabela Provincial Governor Hon. Faustino G. Dy,III, Hon. Ana Cristina S. Go Congresswoman 2nd District of Isabela, ISELCO I ,NELECA and PHILRECA Chairman Dir.Presley C. DE JESUS and ISELCO II Board President Walfrido G. Binag and the member of the board of directors.

During Admin Masongsong’s presentation he well delivered his 7 point agenda (1) Completion of the National Rural Electrification Program, (2) Intensification of capacity-building program for the ECs, (3) Prioritization of empowerment program for the electric consumers, (4) Carrying out of the Rural Development Program thru Rural Electrification Program, (5) Carrying on of the current corporate governance program of the NEA, (6) Strengthening of networking and linkaging with the policy-makers to ensure that the legislative agenda beneficial to the NEA, ECs, and electric consumers are given attention, and (7) Introduction of paradigm shift from central NEA to Federal State Electrification Administration, or carrying out of a transition period towards the creation of the National Center of ECs (Electric Cooperative Consumers) to self-govern the Rural Electrification Movement. The admin gave emphasis to the importance of relationship between Electric Cooperatives (ECs) and the member-consumer-owners he said “ with or without NEA or CDA mCOs and ECs relationship will continue.” Also the AERM stresses out the NEA being an agency of the government shall be the strength of all Electric Cooperatives. Admin Masongsong ended his presentation by saying “at the end of the day strong partnership with the ECs and MCOs will reinforce.

Finally the newly elected Chairman of PHILRECA and General Manager of ISELCO II DAVID SOLOMON M. SIQUIAN delivers his speech and word of gratitude to his collegues he as well ask the support of all the members of PHILFECO to work hand in hand for the betterment of the federation and we quote him saying “Basta’t sama sama, Kayang kaya”.
