IN PHOTOS | Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Sharon Garin, National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda, and Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (PHILRECA) General Manager Atty. Janeene Depay-Colingan visited the First Catanduanes Electric Cooperative, INC. (FICELCO) on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, to inspect the ongoing power restoration efforts in Catanduanes—one of the provinces hardest hit by Super Typhoon ‘Uwan.’
The visit reaffirms the strong collaboration between the DOE, NEA, and PHILRECA with FICELCO to ensure fast restoration of electricity services for the people of Catanduanes.
It also highlights their shared commitment to strengthen the cooperative’s operations, enhance power reliability, and advance the province’s electrification initiatives.
They are also set to conduct site inspections of other ECs in the Bicol Region to personally assess on-ground conditions and identify necessary interventions to hasten the rehabilitation of damaged power distribution facilities.
