Loans Processed to Power Co-ops Reached P2.8-Billion in CY 2025- NEA
The National Electrification Administration (NEA) facilitated a total of P2.8-billion state-funded loans, benefiting at least 45 electric cooperatives (ECs) in 2025, data released by the Accounts Management and Guarantee Department (AMGD) showed.
A lion’s share of the funds worth P1.7-billion went to the capital expenditure (CapEx) projects of 34 ECs—15 in Luzon, 8 in Visayas, and 11 in Mindanao.
The NEA-AMGD also processed working capital loans worth P956-million distributed to eleven (11) ECs serving electricity consumers in Albay, Cagayan de Sulu, Camarines Sur, Cotabato, Negros Oriental, Northern Negros, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Sultan Kudarat and Tarlac.
The NEA also prioritized climate resilience, granting P142.4 million in calamity loans. These funds were allocated to rehabilitate vital energy infrastructure damaged by Super Typhoon Odette in 2021, specifically for the Janopol Mini-Hydro Power Plant in Bohol under the service area of BOHECO 1, and the restoration of SURNECO distribution lines in Surigao del Norte.
The NEA under the current administration provides financial assistance to its partner ECs through its enhanced lending program. The mechanism aims to ensure their operations will continue for the benefit of their member-consumer-owners. ###
