NEA through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRMMD)

IN PHOTOS | The NEA through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRMMD) held the North Luzon leg of Resiliency Summit and Workshop for Electric Cooperatives (ECs).
The activity is part of an ongoing series of workshops to update the ECs’ vulnerability and risk assessment, mitigation, emergency response, and resliency compliance plans.
The Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) hosted this activity with 51 participating ECs from the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region, including ROMELCO and SORECO II.

The summit workshop was held from 17-21 March 2025 this week in Baguio City. NEA led the first part of the discussions, covering the development of an effective and responsive Emergency Response Plan, among others.

The Department of Energy, meanwhile, talked about the Resiliency Compliance Plan as well as the Energy Resiliency Management System for ECs, among other topics, as part of its information and education campaign.

NEA-DRRMD engineers Eric Campoto, Charlene Faustino-Basto, Mc Rex Compleza, and Edison Villamer facilitated the workshop with support from Andrei Camille Corpuz of the NEA-EC Training Institute (NETI).
