NEA signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) 30 January 2024
#NEANews | NEA signed separate Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) in partnership with Cagayan II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAGELCO II) and Isabela II Electric Cooperative (ISELCO II) today, 30 January 2024.
The MOUs will facilitate donations and grants from the SGCC for the construction of off-grid photovoltaic energy storage and power supply systems to selected barangays under the franchises of CAGELCO II and ISELCO II.
NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda signed the MOU with SGCC Chief Representative to the Philippines Yao Yousheng. CAGELCO II and ISELCO II, meanwhile, are represented by Board President Arnel Onza and Board Chairman Sherwin Balloga respectively as signatories.
The MOUs are part of the ongoing “Brighten Up” corporate social responsibility project of SGCC. This phase stands to benefit Brgy. Patunungan in Cagayan and Brgy. San Isidro in Isabela.
The project is similar to the photovoltaic mainstreaming program of the NEA that uses various solar kits to energize households and other state-owned facilities within the recipient communities.
