DOE: Hospitals, evacuation center, other critical facilities prioritized in energy restoration after typhoons
In a press briefing held today, 11 November 2025, Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin, joined by Undersecretaries Felix William B. Fuentebella and Mario C. Marasigan, and representatives from key energy stakeholders, outlined the power restoration efforts following Tropical Cyclone Uwan.
In direct response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to restore power to heavily affected communities as swiftly and safely as possible, the Department of Energy is prioritizing the rapid re-energization of critical facilities, including hospitals, evacuation centers, telecom and water utilities, government emergency operation centers, and vital oil depots.
